Knuckle Scraper R.I.P. 7"

Not to be confused with the New York hardcore band of a similar name (Knuckle Dragger), this is the final ep put out by these Gulf Coast grindcore nerds. All of the stuff here is over three years old, but it's pretty gnarly.
Powerviolence this record is. And a perfect example of where and what it is in a modern incarnation.

Takings...

Finally got the Blkout- '2012' 7" today, nearly six months after the pre orders initially went up. Apparently Suppression Records had a little (or alot of) trouble with the pressing plant causing mega delays. That's how they passed the buck anyway. Eh... still rather annoying. They should have mailed everyone their free download coupon early for compensation or something along those lines. Would have pleased me.
As far as I can remember, this is the 'pre order' cover I think, though I can't be sure, it's been fucken six months.
The new Bracewar Demo 7". Not too sure about this band these days, I heard one track from this online and it seemed okay, but that last 'LP' that they did on 1917 Records really sucked a big one, so I'm cautious with this. With a solid first demo tape, and debut 7" three or so years ago, these guys were definitely one of those 'it' bands, and I feel they really had a good chance at breaking into that trendy, fast, thrashy market that Ceremony and Trash Talk really seem to be exploiting at the moment, but then they had to send themselves up shit creek without a paddle with that terrible excuse of a full length in 2007. Words cannot describe how disappointed I was with that release. Words cannot describe how badly they killed the hype with that LP either. Releasing a demo 7" three records into the bands life? A new record label? A new aesthetic? Maybe this one will see them back on their game? Maybe not?

My boy Pete also sent me the new issue of Pee Zine. Pete has helped me out many times over the last four or so years with things like theSharpEndZine and Downsided, and I'll always be grateful. Cheers Pete.

Can you tell how excited I am about Abraxis now with this new material? Fuck. Wow. I went and got a shirt.

My head had been ripped clean off at the shoulders... I am posting this without a head or a neck.

Andy of one man band Abraxis just posted two new tracks from his forthcoming LP. Soul eating, holy terror hardcore from Brisbane, QLD. Without any sort of doubt, this is the best thing that this city has ever produced hardcore wise. I fucking SHAT.
He's got a label set up to put this out in the USA, but apparently he can't find anyone in Australia. Goes to show you where this country lies scene wise... up the clacker. Go check this out, and give a label in this country a reason to release this.

Extortion 7" re-issue

Got it today.

First and second press together. Aren't they cute?

Son Of A Bitch

To start off with...
That was mine. Not any more. I bought a car. Dammit.
Foreign (ie non Australian) joots: that is what our money looks like.

My Trash Talk 'East Of Eden' version B, finally came in the mail today. In all, the band pressed three different versions of this single; A,B, and C. No idea what the other two look like, I just got this one. It's one sided, with no label or anything on the B side. Black wax.

I also picked up my Crom/Agoraphobic Nosebleed split 7" on red from Kill The Music (my local store for those uninformed). I'm enjoying this newer ANB stuff, and I do enjoy Crom alot. Whacky PV/Crossover from Socal. The artwork on the sleeve is the highlight for me though.

ANB's section of the insert. Not sure what the fuck is going on here, but I like it.

Also grabbed issue #0 of local Brisbane A5 zine 'Wasted Days'. Not a bad read at all, I have read far worse. I like the layout, and two of the six or seven features entertain me, though vegan recipes and comparing Wolf Whistle to Mind Eraser is blasphemy to my senses.
Finally got a copy of the John Joseph book too. Initially I had no strong interest in grabbing this one, but I read the beginning of Grono's copy when we were in California those couple of months back, and what I did get a chance to read I liked, so I had KTM order me my own.

Deconstruction of the mind, deconstruction of the body.

I just found the new Hatred Surge LP, 'Deconstruct', online for download via the Squal0r blog. No idea of actual wax or when it'll happen though, but this sounds like the end of the human race as we know it. I WILL be ordering this when it surfaces.
Back to more straight up grind/PV of the groups earlier stuff, less of the crusty influence from the last 7". Faiza and Alex are still sharing vocal duties, but her pipes sound so much better these days. I didn't like her style before, but it's really working for me now. Angrier, more urgent, more demented. Quite possibly the best HS stuff so far (bar the Iron Lung collab, and the two tracks from the 'Trapped In A Scene' comp LP). There's some really gruff vocals on a few tracks too, I think it may be Rahi from Insect Warfare.

I just paid for this...

TRIAL. BURNING FIGHT 2009.

Jealous? You're jealous.

(kind of hoping that I'll find myself in the photo upon closer inspection :D )

Cruel Hand shirt

I saw Cruel Hand play twice over the last two days. I got this at the first show.
Awesome massive print.
They only played one song from the 'Without A Pulse' LP (the bands better stuff in my opinion) in Brisbane and only two in Byron. Bugger. Thankfully they did play the best song they've ever written, the title track from said LP. I lost my shit. I also fucked up my thumb at the same time. It hurt. It's all swollen and blue now.

Guiltless Electric Depsression

2nd press of the third Cult Ritual s/t 7". When I originally purchased this on eBay it brought me up to date with all of the bands vinyl. Since the purchase there's been an LP and a tour 7" released.

FUCK IT.

Hatred Surge

The bands new LP "Deconstruct" is nearly out from what I can tell. They've got some limited pressing on tour with them in the states at the moment but the final version is being released by Rescued From Life Records very soon. Financial Ruin Records has also released a tape version of it, but I missed it by the looks of it, and so did you. Last night on eBay I also found a limited (of 100) CD version of the album, but it disappeared overnight. I can't seem to find any info on this one, but I'm assuming it's a tour only thing. Keep your eyes on the various labels and the band if you're keen for the LP, the songs on the bands myspace sound hard as nails.

7"s

Picked up some records from Brog last night.

The new Sex Messiah 7". Japanese madmen playing GISM worship. Well that's what the demo sounded like. I haven't had a chance to spin this one yet. Borg tells me it's more metal than the demo.

No Comment bootleg. He gave me this in trade for some zines.

Latest Deathcage 7" out on his other label Sniper Fucker. Emerald/green clear. Like a coke bottle or whatever.
